MY AFTERNOON MATCHA RITUAL
I’ve always been that person who wakes up thinking about my morning coffee. It’s my little ritual and honestly, the best part of my day. But lately, I’ve been mixing things up and adding matcha into the rotation — and let me tell you, it’s been a game changer.
Instead of two cups of coffee, I swap out my second for a matcha latte. It’s become my midday reset — helping me stay grounded without those usual caffeine crashes. I feel so much more present, focused, and clear.
I’ll admit it, I used to think I couldn’t function without my coffee, but matcha has really shifted my energy in such a calm and intentional way. It helps me stay focused and clear, which is especially helpful on busy workdays.
Here’s why I’m loving it:
Sustained Energy, No Crash – Matcha contains L-theanine, which works with caffeine to give me a steady, balanced energy flow throughout the day, without the ups and downs coffee sometimes brings.
Mental Clarity & Focus – Whether I’m jumping from client calls to meetings or powering through some admin work, matcha keeps me in the zone and feeling grounded. It’s like a calm clarity that allows me to do more without feeling scattered.
Glow From the Inside – Matcha is packed with antioxidants, supports digestion, and has benefits for skin health, including anti-aging properties.
Making my matcha has become a little moment of pause and self-care that brings me back to balance in the middle of a busy day.
Here’s how I make it:
Ingredients:
1 tsp of high-quality ceremonial matcha powder (this is my favorite one)
A splash of hot water
1 cup unsweetened almond milk (or whatever milk you prefer)
A few drops of Stevia (a cleaner, natural sweetener) or a sweetener of your choice
Instructions:
In a small bowl, whisk the matcha with a bit of hot water until it’s smooth and frothy. This is the whisk I use — it makes all the difference.)
Gently heat your almond milk on the stove until it’s warm, but not boiling.
Pour the milk over the matcha and whisk again until it’s light and frothy.
Finish with a few drops of stevia, stir, and enjoy.
