MY GO-TO SMOOTHIE

I’m obsessed with smoothies — I have one every single day. And before anyone starts with the “too much sugar” talk, let me stop you right there. It all depends on what you’re putting in them. For the past couple of years, I’ve been working with a naturopath to fine-tune my diet ensuring I’m getting enough protein and fibre, while steering clear of things like dairy, gluten, seed oils and refined sugar. When it comes to smoothies, the key is balance — you’ve got to choose ingredients that truly fuel your body.

This smoothie? It’s my absolute go-to. It’s quick, delicious, and packed with protein and fibre to keep me feeling energized all morning long.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 1 cup of organic strawberries (I switch between strawberries and blueberries since both have different health properties — one is high in vitamin C, the other is rich in antioxidants)

  • 2 cups of Elmhurst Unsweetened Almond Milk

  • A dash of organic Ceylon cinnamon (helps stabilize blood sugar)

  • 1 scoop of Designs for Health PurePaleo Vanilla Protein Powder (doesn’t taste like chalk unlike other powders I’ve tried)

  • 1 scoop of Designs for Health Creatine Powder ( improves cognitive performance, and helps with muscle definition but it wont make you bulky)

  • 2 tablespoons of organic flaxseeds for fiber

  • 1 tablespoon of organic almond butter

  • Sometimes I throw in a handful of organic spinach, but most days I forget to (oops lol)

Blend it all together on high speed for 45 seconds, and there you have it! Enjoy.
