WHY LYMPHATIC MASSAGES ARE MY NEW OBSESSION

If it's not a lymphatic massage, then I don't want it. Seriously. The benefits and results are unreal! I started getting lymphatic massages about a year ago, and have been going consistently every month (my goal is to be able to go every week), but wow, what a difference it makes. I've noticed I have more energy, I feel lighter, and my skin looks glowy and vibrant!

For those of you wondering, what the heck is a lymphatic massage? It’s essentially a gentle, therapeutic technique designed to stimulate the lymphatic system, which is an essential part of our immune system. The lymphatic system helps remove waste, toxins, and excess fluid from the body.

During the massage, you might notice some red marks on your body—this is completely normal and occurs when your fascia is being released. The massage can be a little painful, especially in areas with more toxin buildup, but the release afterwards feels amazing. Personally, I can literally feel my lymphatic fluid moving in my body during the massage, and it’s the most relaxing sensation ever.

The first time I had a lymphatic massage, I felt like I had the flu the next day, which is also a normal part of the detox process. It's important to rest afterward and drink lots of water to help flush out the toxins.

  • reduces swelling and bloating - I always feel so much lighter after a massage

  • helps with digestion

  • detoxifies the body

  • helps with stress relief

Tips on how to support your lymphatic system at home:

  • drink at least 8 glasses of filtered water a day

  • dry brushing before having a shower - brush in upward motions towards you heart

  • eating nutritious foods rich in antioxidants, like berries, leafy greens, and citrus fruits

  • legs up on the wall for 15-20 minutes

  • daily movement - even 20 minutes a day makes a difference

  • epsom salt baths ( my favourite weekly ritual & good for muscle recovery if you’re sore after a workout)

  • wearing loose, breathable fabrics like linen and 100% cotton

  • getting adequate hours of sleep
