STOVE-TOP POPCORN TOPPED WITH GHEE
Movie nights are one of my favorite ways to unwind — but let’s be real, it’s not complete without snacks. That said, I’ve stopped buying most store-bought options because so many are loaded with inflammatory seed oils and artificial additives that just aren’t good for you.
Instead, I make my own — and this popcorn recipe is my go-to. It’s simple, flavorful, and way healthier than anything pre-packaged.
One of the reasons I love using ghee is because it gives that rich, buttery flavor without the dairy. As someone who’s super mindful of what I eat, I appreciate that ghee is a healthy fat. Unlike butter, it’s clarified, meaning the milk solids are removed — making it easier on digestion and ideal if you’re dairy-sensitive.
Plus, ghee is packed with butyrate, a short-chain fatty acid that supports gut health and helps reduce inflammation. So yes, this snack is not only delicious, it’s also nourishing. Win-win.

Ingredients:
1/2 cup organic & gluten-free popcorn kernels
2 tablespoons organic coconut oil
2-3 tablespoons ghee (I buy mine from the local farmers market)
Himalayan sea salt (to taste)
Instructions:
Heat the Coconut Oil:
In a large pot with a lid, heat about 2 tablespoons of coconut oil over medium heat and wait for it to melt.Add the Kernels:
Pour in the 1/2 cup of popcorn kernels, spreading them evenly across the bottom of the pot. Cover with a lid to prevent the kernels from flying out.Let the Popping Begin:
Shake the pot gently every minute or so to ensure even popping.Top with Ghee:
Immediately pour the freshly popped popcorn into a bowl. Melt some ghee (1 tablespoon or more depending on how buttery you like it) and drizzle it over the popcorn. Toss well to ensure each kernel gets a nice coating.Season to Taste:
Add a pinch of Himalayan sea salt or any additional seasonings you love.
Let me know if you try it!
