HOW TO RESET WHEN YOU’RE FEELING OFF

I don’t know about you, but lately, the energy has just felt... off. I’ve been joking with my friends that it’s because Mercury is in retrograde lol, but honestly, I think we’ve all been feeling it. I’ve definitely been in a bit of a rut myself — feeling stressed, not sleeping well, and dealing with some anxiety. It’s one of those moments where you feel like you’re just a little bit out of sync.

The other day, I sat down and wrote a list of things that help me reconnect with myself. If you’ve been in the same boat lately, maybe this will help you too.

Here’s what’s been working for me:

  • Create a to-do list every day. The satisfaction of checking things off is unmatched, and it helps me feel more grounded and in control.

  • Go for a long walk alone. There’s something so healing about fresh air and movement. I always love listening to a motivational podcast during these walks — it really helps to reset my mind.

  • Allow myself space to just be. I’ve been leaning into journaling more lately, giving myself permission to process emotions and just let everything flow. It's been a huge release.

  • Self-care. Whether it’s getting my nails done, treating myself to a blowout, running a bath at the of the day, or even just picking up a bouquet of flowers, doing something small for myself always brings me joy.

  • Call my mom or a friend. There’s nothing like talking it out with someone who gets you.

  • Break the routine. Sometimes switching it up can make all the difference. Today, instead of my usual morning routine, I went out for coffee at a local cafe — it felt like a refreshing change.

  • Infrared sauna. I swear, the moment I step into the sauna, I feel a shift. It’s like all the tension melts away with the sweat, and the red light therapy is a total bonus.

  • Meditation. Even five minutes of just sitting and breathing can change your mindset completely.

  • Write a list of what makes me happy. I make a list of the little things that bring me joy, and when I read it back to myself, it’s a reminder of all the positive things in my life.

  • Not forcing myself to work out. I used to push myself to work out even when I wasn’t feeling it, but now, I’m learning to listen to my body. If I’m not in the mood for a workout, I allow myself to rest or take a gentler approach like stretching or yoga. It’s about giving myself permission to honor what my body needs.

I’ve learned that when I’m feeling off, it’s not about forcing myself to ‘snap out of it’ right away, but instead giving myself the time and space to gently find my way back to balance. If you’re in the same place right now, remember: you don’t have to have everything figured out. It’s okay to go through the motions and take it one day at a time. You’ve got this.

If you find yourself needing a little reset, I hope this list gives you some inspiration. You deserve to feel your best, and sometimes, it’s the simple, intentional actions that make the biggest difference.
